Bringing Mobile Hearing Solutions to YOU!

Hearing is such an intricate part of living life to its fullest. Relationships depend so much on communication, and hearing loss can bring on a tough challenge in that arena if not addressed in a way that improves hearing deficiencies.
A hearing test is the method used to determine if there is hearing loss, and if so, how much.
We hear different parts of speech in different frequencies. For instance, we hear sounds like the ‘s’, ‘f’, and ‘th’ in the high frequencies. If a person doesn’t hear those frequencies well, they have to ‘think’ about what someone just said because they probably did not hear the whole word. This is where hearing aids can make a difference in speech understanding.
Hearing aids can be made to fit inside your ear, or worn on the back side with a small part going inside the ear.
Factors to consider in choosing include dexterity ability, amount of hearing loss (how much gain does the instrument need to have), discreet importance and making sure the hearing aid stays in the ear properly.

Hearing loss has been identified as one of the risk factors leading to dementia. Keeping the brain stimulated with sound is a good thing.

When people struggle with speech understanding, they often withdraw from exposing themselves to uncomfortable situations. Asking people to repeat things continually, or mis-interpreting what was said, or missing the punch line of a joke because it was spoken at a softer level – all of these things can lead to isolation.
