In a church setting, people with hearing aids may struggle due to the acoustics in the room. Sound from a microphone bounces off of the ceiling and walls before it hits a tiny microphone on the hearing aid. Hearing aids were not designed for distance listening. Auracast is a new broadcast that can be installed easily, and the sound from the microphone would be direct-to-ear for hearing aids that are compatible (ReSound, Starkey Oticon and Beltone presently.) I am interested in setting up these systems in local churches because they can greatly improve the listening/engagement experience in the service. This is not expensive.
